BLOG
My favourite books and movies...
... here, because in the header is not that much space for it...
subject to change...
books:
1.) Tunnelvision by Keith Lowe
The leading character will marry in 24 hours but first he
has to visit all 265 tube-stations in London because
of a bet... otherwise his marriage will fail.
2.) Night Train to Lisbon by Pascal Mercier
just finished, like to read again to understand more...
has something to do with philosophic... sometimes not
easy to read, maybe not really logical but it bounded me.
Not published in English yet, to be issued in December 2007.
My recommendation...
3.) Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
OK, I don't think that I need to discribe... 42...!
4.) The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
yet another classic book...
5.) LaLürik* by Reinhard F.
read and laugh - but only available in German
I know the author personally :-)
Movies:
1.) 23 - Nichts ist so wie es scheint
see http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0126765/
for details.
2.) Dead poets society
should everyone know - otherwise is imdb everytime
the source for more information
3.) 007 - Tomorrow never dies
and a lot more James Bond movies..., especially
this one because I like the story, once my home-
town STUTTGART is spoken, and it might be realistic
to make news to have news...
4.) L'Effrontée
Charlotte Gainsbourg my favourite actress... in this
movie she is very young. Mh, the first french movie...
there are a lot of other good french movies of course.
5.) Die Überlebenden (AKA "The Survivors")
what should I say about... the director Andres Veiel
came from Stuttgart-Möhringen (where I grew up),
and so this is more a patriotic vote. But anyway a
recommendation - could be hard to find :-)
***
This should be no valuation, I could name a lot of more
books and movies, for example in this list is nothing from
Stanley Kubrick and "Clockwork Orange" is an absolute
"must see" or "Casablanca" very old but very good -
if I recommend "Secretary" here it might be understood
in the wrong way. I saw Harry Potter last week in the cinema
(I was forced to see it), but never read a Harry Potter. It
was a nice movie, but I would never recommend it. To name
another good french movie which is actual ... "La Tourneuse
de pages" for example. The next thing I like to see is
"Irina Palm" - should be very British humor. This is a Swiss
homepage, so last not least a Swiss comedy... highly re-
commended - I had tears in the eyes from laughing(!)...
Die Herbstzeitlosen - don't ask me for an English Title.
IMDB also don't give an alternation.
So. Words don't come easy - finish line for today.
