Swatch FIVB - Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain (May 2007)
I work for the Region Office of Coke and I found out from our Bottling Plant that we were one of the sponsors but the VIP cards were sent to the Marketing Team who did not inform us. So I went to the Formula 1 track where the event is going to be held and eventhough I have no VIP card, I called up the local orgnizers of the event and told them that I am a pioneer member of swatch and I have my ID to prove it. Long story short, I managed to get in, thanks to the organizers and I got my VIP pass.. I was meant to meet and have a chat with Nikki (?) but she was busy.. in the end I have to leave early before the 2nd set is over coz our Region Manager is having a bbq at his place and being his asst. I got to be there.. even the GM of the Bottling Plant has to leave early, too coz he has to be at the party! DUTY CALLS!! but can't wait for next years' and i heard that the women will be competing as well... i was such a loser for leaving my camera and the formula 1 track is way out there in the desert so i couldnt really turn back and get it.. but at least one of the local magazines got a shot of us for proof.. but i want to have a pic with the players.. the women did an exhibition and after they played they sat a row in front of me.. tsk tsk what a waste.. oh well next time then.. and the german team were right there in the lounge when i came in... again, what a waste!!!
